I don't see how yours is

Post by schrader7032 »

I don't see how yours is going to work...I've not see one like that. My R69S came with a Denfeld rack as seen in this fiche:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=46&fg=20

The two long arms with the slots attach to the rear shock struts where the fender stay attaches, the part of the fender that folds up for changing the tire. The other mounting point is a curved section which picks up the two holes in the rear part of the fender. You can kind of see it in the fiche picture as the thin curvy piece. If you have a solo seat mounted to the top of the rear fender of the small luggage rack mounted to the top of the rear fender, I'm not sure how to also mount the Denfeld rack.

I'm not sure what you have. Where did you get it and was it sold as a specific rack for the R69S?

I found this picture on another site...as it says, he thinks this might be an Enduro rack.

it looks just like the enduro rack from the other site, I wonder if that guy can show some pictures how the top mounts.

I got the rack as part of purchasing some other stuff, and it was throw in, a bundle purchase

it is used and I just am trying to figure it out

It seems similar to a rack

Post by Zeno Lee »

It seems similar to a rack that I have. The one that I have mounts to the rear shock mount hole and the rear fender hinge bolt.

Not like my Denfeld

Post by schrader7032 »

This doesn't look like my Denfeld rack for my R69S...my Denfeld looks like the fiche link I provided. This must be one of the other varieties that were offered. Sounds like it helps the OP, though, so that's good.

Nice rack

Post by stwilliams »

Kurt,

There were several variations of racks offered. Denfeld was the most ubiquitous, from what I can tell, though I'm sure there were other manufacturers/retailers as well. The mounting points vary. For some you had to drill extra holes in the fender. I'm never in favor of that (of course back in the day, people didn't think twice about it.)
