Voltage Regulator Help
A new Motoblat battery showing 6.4V actually drops in voltage and is all over the map when I go off idle and add RPM’s. My hope was some of you have done this change and can confirm a correct or incorrect connection on my part. Any advice or direction you can point me would be appreciated.

Re: Voltage Regulator Help
The resistor has been removed
And B+,D+,DF are connected correctly
The wire going from the 30/51 (B+) generator to the 30/51 on the new regulator looks like crap !!
Your commutator look dirty and is a classic problem with weak brush springs or uneven wear of the brushes
Also check the field winding for intermittent connection
Remove one field winding and should measure 2.5-4.00 Ohms from each end and dirt inside the field winding touching the commutator

Re: Voltage Regulator Help
That wire has the fibrous sheathing fraying (fortunately it is not bare wire underneath) .. I did add some shrink tube to it for insulation since this pic was taken. I thought to replace it but it is attached under the post and I am not sure how to remove it.
