HAMA gas key

Post by fuzzymuzzie »

Hi:
Is there anyone out there with a gas key for sale or can lend me one to have it 3d printed here locally, I have three Hama gas caps now, all without keys, or..... if you have one to sell with a KEY; for sale? My locksmith tells me if you can get a key he could possibly modify it to work thus the 3d printed key possibly.

I asked about this a while back but I never got notified of messages.

Thanks in advance

I have one and would be happy to scan it so you have the correct size and cut. It’s VERY simple.

If it were mine, I would go to a lock shop, find a key that goes in the slot then dismantle the lock and re-arrange as many of the tumblers as I could to fit the key, then cut down or leave out any that would not go, it's only for show anyway, if somebody wanted to steal your petrol they are quite easy to defeat.

I scanned both sides of the key in high res. I have attached those as well as measurements. Not sure what software you are using, but I recently copied an Eberspacher knob using Blender and printed it. It didn't come out as good as I wanted, but that was due to the printer that was used was not high resolution enough. The high-res scan and the dimensions should be good enough to get you on your way. The issue your likely to have printing this is with the bump in the key. I think that will be a challenge. The bump was stamped in with the key.

I attached a picture of my Eberspacher knob as well.

Let me know if you need any other measurements. oh, the length of the "bump" is 0.4670"
