Insurance

Post by SDCR »

Hey guys,

Just looking for ideas or feedback on Insurance. My coverage for two bikes, a 2000 R1100 RS and a 1983 R100, that is registered in Pa. a Classic.

Dairyland Insurance increased my policy for 2024, by 35%, based on a “Inflation increase”. Nothing to do with me personally, as I’ve received no tickets and have not had any claims.

Any thoughts or ideas for a more competitive Insurance carrier?

Thanks.

There are several specialist companies that insure vintage vehicles, and their rates tend to be much, much lower. Possibly the best known of these is Haggerty, but there are others. My old bikes are insured by JC Taylor. Some of these companies have yearly mileage limitations or stipulations, but my insurance with JC Taylor does not. You should check them out.

Well, I spoke with a Progressive agent, who is local to me. She also is a rider. She set me up with a Progressive policy, with better medical coverage, for a couple of dollars difference than my Dairyland cost last year. It’s also about 30% less than Dairyland 2024 increase, so I am going with that.

Thanks again for all of your advice.
