For the Tapping of the bolt away from the points, am I correct that the bolt should be fully tightened?

Doug,

This picture of a dual points setup on a Pentacom plate comes from an article in VMCA Vol. 8, Issue 2, page 17. (Look under the magazines tab on this site)

The intent of the dual points in this article was to provide dual ignition systems for double plugged engines by adding a separate battery/coil (Kettering) ignition to work in tandem with the stock magneto ignition.

In the 80's, parts suppliers like capital punishment were selling junk contact points. During that time period I modified a stock points plate and tried several alternative sourced points. They worked as required and were efficient. Doc Harms also was testing options to the stock points and moved forward with non-stock points and a new plate design. I have been using this plate design in various iterations for decades. They perform excellent. I started manufacturing an updated version of them after Doc Harms stopped his production.

The pic is of NFS plates. As in....NOT FOR SALE. They are for my personal builds. Less time tapping away on a keypad allows for more time building machines.
