I had sudden battery failure recently which left me stranded. I was running a 4 yo Panasonic LC-X1228P, it gave great service; but is NLA to my search.

I found an exact replacement at my local Sam's Club: Duracell Platinum AGM ETX30LA, even listed for R90S. $120.

Both of these batteries are about 3/4 inch narrower than the stock battery; any maybe a little taller; but stock strap can be used. Most importantly, it can be installed/removed from the top if you hold your mouth just right.

It is white.

Anyway, hope this will help someone....

I have been running the same panasonic LC-X1228P batteries in my r90S
bikes with only one replacement in 14 yrs! Good prices on Digi-Key too.

Look à the Motobatt (glass Matt) option, in black. Slightly taller that OEM, but if you flip over the clamping strap it works fine

I was introduced to Motobatt and both my R90S and R26 use them. Excellent, never go back to anything else.

+1 on Motobatt, slightly more $$ than other batteries, but I believe
they're worth it. Tom Cutter sells them, which is a pretty good
recommendation. You can buy them direct from Motobatt, but I like to
support Tom when I can.
