I have had 2 sets of Metzler Lasertec sidewall crack, a friend with R90S a third. I chalk it up to Made in Brazil. Metzler did nothing to address the problem.
Bridgestone BT45's are superb kit if you can find them. I have run them on R69S as well. Work well front or rear regardless of rotation mark on ole iron.
I have had numerous sets of Avon Road Riders on my Brit bikes. Good tires. The Bridgestone's seen to turn in faster. Both are more neutral on rain groove freeway than Metzler.
Have Pilot Active on my R100 restoration. Good rain tire.
I would like to try a set of Continental Radial Ply for vintage bikes. Limited sizes that fit ole airheads.
Pick a tire and tame the chicken strips!
