One last thing to check. Valves of unknown make may indeed be the same length as stock valves, but is the keeper slot on the stem cut at the right location. If this location is too close to the valve face it will prematurely compress and coil bind the spring. Checking the installed height will reveal the problem, then a simple measurement comparison to the factory valve spec will identify the source of the trouble.
