R11 heads vs R12 heads

Hello,

I am working on a freinds R11 S2 thats going to be in this years Cannonball rally.
At some point during the R11 run or the start of the R12 they redisgned the heads and moved the combustion away from the sparkplug and closer to the the cyclinder bore. Also the heads are a bit thicker - more cooling.
I have a spare set of R12 heads that I am planning to install on the R11.

Any Thoughts?

I find that interesting Harley played around with combustion chamber designs for their flathead racers culminating with a 750 cc KR that lapped Daytona a circa 150 MPH !! I will be watching the Cannonball and always hope for the Beemers to do well Best of luck to you !
