R69 sure is different. I didn't know about the R69S being smaller.

In a German book I find that the R69S originally had 12-42 degree ingnition timimg marks. From 1964 on they were the same as the R50 and R60 at 9-39 degree.

Chaps as always, you are the best. Thanks for all of the replies and really good points of discussion.

For me the clear indication of using a digital inclinometer that only cost a few £’s in the UK accurately showed my flywheel timing marks. I wish I could show you photos of the way I attached it but can’t seem to figure out how to do that.
That aside, as the inclinometer is magnetic you can attach one to the rotor puller tool, zero it at TDC and go from there.
My bike is running really sweet since I have reset it albeit slightly retarded for the UK weather and the 95RON petrol (gas) we use here.
