Just curious - how did they match Dover White in powder?
Dave
I was told ... when they called PPG for the paint they were informed PPG now carries the matching powder. #3087
They actually brought in a paint sample and in the bright sun we could not tell a difference. To be sure they are going to scan the two to see how close they are. To the naked eye they looked identical.
Great! That's so cool. I assume you are painting the tins?
Dave
That is correct. Everything else will be painted. They said about 3 weeks. In the meantime Ill start on the frame.
Today I was able to get most of the threads on the frame and front forks cleaned up.
This afternoon Ill be fiddling with the front end. Im replacing the old steering head ball bearings with tapered bearings. That changes some of the parts so I want to make sure I do it right. The schematics are not very clear of the order.
Finally got the wheels ready for installation. New rims, hubcaps, SS spokes, tubes, tires, bearings and seals. All I need now are the swing arm bearings and seals to install.
