Looking for some help identifying this bike.
Passed on to me by my father, who purchased it new in Germany in the early 60s.
Still trying to find the VIN number but a couple pictures attached. Thanks for your help.

And he bought it from Schorsch Meier, to boot!
The model and vin number should be stamped on the data plate, which is screwed into the frame, located on front side of the steering neck, right behind the headlight.
The frame number (partially visible in your photo) is stamped in the frame, also located on the steering neck, on the right side.
The engine number is stamped on the block, located over the left cylinder.
Those are the three identifying numbers, and if you're lucky, (which you are) all three will be the same.
It will be a money pit for a while, but you will never loose the investment.

Finned exhaust flanges, rounded shape to rocker covers.
