In my case, when installing the vape system, I took the opportunity to also swap out both a worn ignition switch, problematic terminal board, and a corroding wiring harness.
The old components were functioning correctly, (if intermittently, due to their condition) so the old wiring and connections were noted and labeled before disassembly, and with the new pieces laying along side, they were likewise labeled and checked for similar continuity, and then the old removed and the new installed.
Not difficult or time consuming, but certainly requiring a patient attitude.
