First prewar bike for me.

Post by Bmw1950-1969 »

I was lucky enough to find my first prewar bike. A 1928 R52 with original paint and came with the German document booklet. Going to be an exciting project. Bike comes with most of its original parts. The thoughts of leaving the bike as is with a complete mechanical overhaul will more than likely be the plan. Thoughts?

Pretty cool! Is that a rear brake on the Cardan shaft?

Yes, it’s going to be quite a learning curve getting to know this bike. I’m fired up.

Absolutely stunning! A true survivor and important piece of history. Fix the mechanicals that need fixing, but leave the cosmetics, patina, etc. just the way they are. And ride and enjoy it... My original bikes are my favorites and bring a huge smile to my face every time I ride them! Just one guy's opinion...

Thanks.
