I'm sure it would work just fine but its a little pricey, don't you think? In my R75 (small battery box) I use a sealed AGM 12v 18ah battery that cost about $65 at Batteries Unlimited and it works just fine. Its the same battery that I used to use in my K1100 and it was fine there, too.

It's common to use sealed batteries in the early /5/6/7 bikes. However, the charging system specs are not a perfect match to that required for the sealed battery. The bike will charge the battery, but the life may be compromised. I'm sure there are examples where these batteries work fine. I've always had a slosh-lead acid battery in my /7...that is what the bike's system was designed for. The sealed batteries will work fine until they don't...most of the time on my lead acid batteries for the /7 I get some kind of warning that the battery is on the way out. YMMV

Fast. Neat. Average. Friendly. Good. Good.
I put Motobatt's in most of my customers /6 bikes and haven't had an issue with any of them coming back. The one I use is the MBTX20UHD with ~400cca. It comes with 4 posts so you can have dedicated posts for the bike and another set for all your accessories.. including a trickle charger.
It's black with orange print, but I also use a flat black spay paint on them to cover the orange print so the battery is all flat black. The battery is a bit taller, which means you need to turn the holding bar upside-down to get the nuts back on, but other than that it fits fine.

I check them on arrival and they're usually close to full, but once installed I always put them on a charger to be sure they go out to the customer fully charged.
I have a small shop and work on one or two bikes at a time, so anytime a customer bike is on a lift, I connect a trickle charger to the battery.
