my R69S serial number ends with xxx69

Does this mean anything? One could imagine that the factory reserved serial numbers ending with 69 for some special purpose. Does anyone know?

That sounds pretty non standard. Might suggest that the serial numbers were modified or the frame/engine is a replacement. Do you have pictures that you can post?

One in every hundred bikes of the same model produced will end in 69. Not sure what your question is.

The answer to your question is there is no significance to the last two digits (or any two digits in that case) matching the model number.

It's just another sequential number.

It sounded like the VIN was just that, xxx69, which doesn't make any sense. For R69 or R69S models, it's six digits xxxxxx. There were over 14000 R69 and R69S models made with every 1000 numbers there would have been 10 bikes that ended in "69". So 14 * 10 or around 140??

I understand...I would have said ending in 69 without the xxx's. That's just me I guess.
