Brain replacement (ignition board) with rocky point kit
Brain replacement (ignition board) with rocky point kit
There's nothing to firmly hold the plate points on the bottom front of the board together firmly.
Rattles at med rpm and irritating me.
Looking to replace it with the kit from Rocky point cycle.
Any experience or feedback with this kit??

Fast. Neat. Average. Friendly. Good. Good.
Re: Brain replacement (ignition board)
While I'm in there I found that I have a voltage drop.
When key is in and lights off:
Between 30/51 and 56 I get 12.6v
When key turns to lights on voltage drops to 11.88v
This is with no headlight installed. It's on the bench.
Re: Brain replacement (ignition board)
Pulled the board and will be installing the rocky point kit.

I installed a dual pole relay in the bucket that keeps the brown/black wire to the coil/magneto "open" when the switch is on and grounds the magneto when i turn the key to off.
Works like a champ and didn't have to wire up a kill switch.
Relay is RLS 125 or similar dual pole relay.
thanks guys.

I have the same Rocky point ignition. Can you either take a picture or explain how you wired up the relay? I’d like to get rid of my Killswitch.Datchew wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 5:44 pmwell, I got some tips from another airhead that does this routinely for people.
