So I’m getting close to the first start. I went to mount the seat. There are 2 hooks w holes in them. I see where the front hook mounts on a stud thing but I do not see one for the rear . What am I missing? It’s been months since I took it off so forgot some details....Thx!
From what I remember, those hooks that install on the seat pan actually hook around the rear subframe. I don't have those anymore on my /7. I removed them and converted the seat to a lift-off style. I have hard bags on my bike and the seat only would open a fraction before it contacted the right-side case. So, off with the hinges and on with the lift-off kit. Works for me!

Fast. Neat. Average. Friendly. Good. Good.
There is a peg for the rear mount also. But, it is hidden behind the sheetmetal on the rear subframe. It is a pain to get the rear one on. Since one goes on from the front and the other from the rear they won't just slip on. Usually you have to remove one of the hook brackets to get them both on the pegs. Then tighten the 3 screws on that bracket. On one of my bikes the rear peg was removed and replaced by a bolt and nut. The lift-off seat is sooooo much easier to deal with.
I do remember that it was difficult to get off. I’ll look for the”missing” peg when I get a chance. Need to put on my glasses and get a good light in it.......
Just use a bolt and either a self-locking nut or double nut - 1/4" or 6mm. Actually makes seat removal/replacement much easier. Make sure the hinge pivots on the unthreaded portion of the bolt.
I finally got a battery and it started right up!
The ex owner stopped by to hear it. He told me that the rear pivot was not there when he had the bike. I don’t feel so bad now!
I am bending a 90 to put through the hole in the side sheet metal. This ( in theory) will serve as the rear pin.
