Wheel rims question – R60/5

Post by Micha »

Hi folks. On the front is a 3.25x19” wheel and at the rear I have a 130/70x18”.
1. Is this correct and original?
2. Is it possible to take a front 19” wheel and assemble it on the rear? Will the rim fit? Will the hub fit?
To make it short: I want to assemble a front wheel including hub – on the rear instead of the 18”.
Is it possible?
Thanks in advance – Michael.

1.Don't remember on the front but the rear should be a 400/18
2.Yes the hub will work. You do not want to run a 19 in the rear. It will change the steering geometry.

It's hard to believe that a 130/70 rear will fit. It must be rubbing on the swingarm. The spec tire in the rear is the 4.00x18 as mentioned. A reasonable metric tire is the 110/90-18...some will run the 120/90 but there's a chance it too will rub depending on manufacturer.

I agree...changing the steering geomeotry is not good. The short wheel based /5s were known to have wobble issues if the suspension was not set up correctly. So, it would be best if you keep things closer to spec.

We have run 130's on /5 race

We have run 130's on /5 race bikes before by using the R100RS rear wheel shim. The bigger problem after you get it to fit is the bike does not have enough power to heat up that much tire on the street.
