MAX BMW classic parts fiche

Post by ECJ »

Noah-

The best learning is doing! Keep it up, but proceed cautiously and keep asking questions. You will eventually be trusting your life to your work....

I use the MAX BMW classic parts fiche constantly in my rebuilds. I am in the middle of an R50/2 conversion project, and recently purchased a set of steering headstock bearings from them:

Good luck!

ECJ- Which part number did

Post by schrader7032 »

ECJ-

Which part number did you get? The MaxBMW website is bad for not linking to the specific part...it just takes us to the overall fiche listing.

Man, I learned a whole lot

Post by NoahRodenbeek »

Man, I learned a whole lot about my bike working my way through the front fork.

For starters, I had some pieces mixed up. Half of the original image's pieces wound up belonging in the swing arm, so once I sorted all of that out things started to make a lot more sense.

I also didn't understand how the fork connections are totally separate from the steering damper (or even what a steering damper was, super fascinating).

Thanks for all of your help, guys, I couldn't have puzzled my way through this without you!
