OEM cable ties
What method should be used to enable the plastic pin to puncture tie without deforming said pin?
TIA
Peter

Re: OEM cable ties
My method is to make the strap about 3" longer than required. Next I use an old fitting with the piercing pin removed to sham fit strap as snug as possible. Hold in place with hemostat clamp and drill pin-hole in the strap. Remove old fitting install new fitting and use a set of parallel pliers to lock pin in place.
As Steve noted it can be a challenge to make the tie tight however the hemostat method works well.
