Which sealent/glue?

Post by 13Stone »

HI, I just changed the two indicators light bulbs for neutral and generator and I'm wondering what I should use fasten the little green and red lens to the headlight housing. I found some residue from the previous owner but 90% of it was gone.
Appreciate the help.

The indicator bulbs are normally replaced from the inside of the shell after removing the speedometer out the the way

In the early days the 4 plastic tabs were melted in on the inside holding the lens in place

Its best to just to tape the outside of the lens down and use some silicon gasket sealant on the inside of the lens, let it dry and then remove the tape on the top side

Im sure other have other ways

I have used JB weld on the last few resurrections / restorations. You just have to be careful and satisfied with the fit.
