Bing34,weird throttle plate issue

Post by Ozzybiker »

1981 G/S80 ( PD look alike with 32 l tank) carby clean up discovered wierd throttle disc issue. The inner face of the disc (inc. shaft and screw heads) nearest the inlet valve appears to be shot blasted.
The inlet valve has got slight carbon build up on the valve stem side also.
The bike runs fine is, tuneable and compressions are even 130 each side.
Who knows what has happened to the bike before my owner ship 6 months 100 km ago.
I was assured of an engine o/ haul 4000km prior.
Could these issues be a sign of a bigger issue?
Otherwise just a new plate and shaft and ride!
Any ideas please. ( new pre loved, BMW owner)

Who knows? If it is running well, ride it and don't worry until it isn't. St.

Thanks, S … you’re right, the little pebble, screw or whatever has gone now.
