The hydraulic unit has three positions; off, one click tight, two click tighter.

To be honest, I rarely use them on my bikes. My RS got the most use when I found myself on gravel or. dirt roads. It was nice to have with the narrow low handlebars. For my RT, about the same but less use.

I would say that having the front suspension in good shape along with good properly adjusted steering head bearings renders the dampers unnecessary. But, they are nice to have, LOL. St.

Again, thanks for taking the time to pass on the info you have. Thanks to Chuck, I have another variant to add to my list - 3 solid diamonds.

I am going to resolve myself to the fact that there is obviously no one correct knob for a restoration. But I will keep my eyes out for one of the white-trimmed variants.
