R27 Engine Rebuild Stand
Re: R27 Engine Rebuild Stand
I am part way through making my own from 2 x 1/2 flat bar (because that is what I had).
I will post a pic when it is done.
The dimensions on the right side drawing are for the singles.

Re: R27 Engine Rebuild Stand
These photo are during construction.
The engine stand is now bolted to the floor in my shed next to my engine assembly table.
Engine placed into stand. I also have a wooden one I use placed on my engine assembly table. Anyway, just a fee ideas.

Re: R27 Engine Rebuild Stand
They are meant to be attached to a generic car engine stand. The blue one fits the /2 engines or gearboxes and the red one fits the /5, 6, and 7 engines and gearboxes.
The design is very strong. I had a /7 R75 engine running while mounted on the stand.
I used the dimensions from the Einzylinder forum to lay out a pattern to make a similar mount for the R25, 26 and 27 engines and gearboxes. I used 2" x 1/2" flat bar and yellow paint because that was what I had on hand. Joel's design is nice because you can flip and rotate the engine to make it easier to work on. I will post another picture when I have my R26 engine on the stand.
