Flywheel Puller home made - pictures:

Sturdier-looking than the Many In One tool.
Simple pullers have been blamed for damaging the timing gear on the crankshaft, because they pull with two arms. The Matra 499 tool that you may be making next looks like it fully supports the back of the gear when pulling. See post below:

Re: [slash2] R69s camshaft installation
My bet is that the puller you used, to pull the steel gear off of the crank,
bent the back edge of the teeth of the gear, where the arms of the puller
engaged the back of the gear. I've seen this happen many times before.
That is why it turns free with the cam pulled out from the case. The back of
the cam gear is not yet engaged with the very back of the steel crank gear,
where the teeth are distorted from the puller. If this is the case, careful
filing of the very back end of the warped teeth will relieve the distortion,
and the gear will then turn free 360 degrees. By the way, it MUST turn free
with NO bind, two complete revolutions of the crank (one of the cam) or the
steel gear will chew up the aluminum gear, putting aluminum filings in your
slingers as the engine runs.
