1974 R90S For Sale

Post by Steve Z »

Hi all,

Figured I'd start with this list to see if I have any takers. I'm looking
to sell my R90S and want it to go to a good home. She's been fantastic the
10 years I've had her. It's not the most perfect R90S but it'll always get
you where you are going. I'm asking $4500 OBO. The bike is located in
Chicago. Matching numbers and has been well taken care of. The clock
reads 68K (or therabouts). I've put 40K on her.

I don't ride it anymore and it's been sitting around for about 4 months.
That being said, I charged up the battery and she started immediately and
ran beautifully all day. But, it's not without it's issues. The front
brakes need to be looked into as does the starter. I believe the starter
just needs new brushes which come NIB with the bike. Also, the gauges were
missing in the fairing when I purchased the bike as were the original /5
type perches which have been replaced with correct period type perches.

Upgrades include:

- Dyna III electronic ignition
- Dual plugged heads and coils (coils are brand new).
- Toaster Tan upper brace
- new rear shocks
- new timing chain, tensioner, and bearing
- Power coated frame
- Engine seals and gaskets replaced 4 years ago along with a professional
airhead mechanic looking over the cylinders and heads and all were within
specs
- rebuilt Del Ortos

As noted above, not 100% original but very close. The fairing gauges will
need to be replaced with period correct ones. I had found them but never
pulled the trigger to purchase them as they are really expensive. In the
link you will find a zip file containing pictures and video of the bike
running. Video was taken about 2 weeks ago.
