Nothing like a fresh coat of paint. Im very happy with how everything turned out. I think he did a great job and it will show when the bike is rolled out to go home. Unfortunately I can't do anything until it all gets pin striped. The call went out so I hope I hear from him soon.
Thanks Tommy. Over the last 5-6 years she has gotten used to me using the kitchen to display and inspect newly painted bodywork. She doesn't even yell at me anymore.
Those parts look great in your kitchen
Looks like the dog needs more water soon

Anyway, today I think I finalized the wiring harness and accessories. Since the ignition circuit board is not installed completely I may or may not be able to test the system. Im working on a way to "jump" the 3 different ignitions positions on the circuit board itself. I am still hoping to test the system before I tear it apart to install the new Rocky Point Cycle ignition switch conversion.
Remember when I said I was going to leave the "one time use" transmission to drive shaft bolts until near the end ????? Well, it usually works until now. While securing the bolts one fell off into the drive shaft housing. Grrrrrrrr. That means I now have to drop the rear wheel, shocks, rear brake assembly, final drive and swing arm. There goes a half day of work ........ Grrrrrrr
Time to grab a big glass of ice tea, turn up the music and get back to work. Lesson learned.

Good new is .... I'm dropping the two tanks and two fenders off tomorrow at the Pinstripers. He said he could have it back to me by the end of the week. I can't tell you how excited I am to get that done.
Today I also hooked up the battery. To my surprise nothing went pop and I didn't see any smoke. Since I still have the original ignition switch hooked up I was able to jump the connections which lit up some of the lights. Tomorrow I will start the conversion to the new ignition. Oh boy.
With the new ignition in I then installed the battery. No smoke, fire or pops and everything came alive. The only thing not working are the turn signals. I expect them to work as soon as I get the rear fender installed with the rest of the lights.
Oh .... this R75/5 has a two part battery box. It uses rubber plugs to keep the battery off the rack. There are 10 holes. BMW wants $4 a piece. I went to NAPA and found a set of 15 for $4.50. They work great.
New tank badges arrived today from Bobs BMW.
