Getting back to the title of this thread, and a lot less exotic, this is Greta, my R69S outfit, if anyone's interested. Don't need to say anymore really.

Is that a Ural with a Steib fender up there?

Looks pretty nice.
I deserve a paper plate as strong as I am!

Also noticed the hydraulic damper between the sidecar and fork, the big friction damper knob, and the bucket with the gauge in it.

Thanks for the interest in my outfit fellas, I've been away or I would have replied sooner.

Actually it's a Dnepr, which is like a Ural, but Ukrainian, and with better suspension and a nicer wheel (although mine has been converted to take a BMW wheel like a Spezial, so the spare now fits all round hence the 4.00 x 18 Avon SMs on all the wheels). Unlike the Ural and Chang Jiang they aren't made anymore. The Steib mudguard is really the least of the modifications on it, as well as the sprung wheel, the whole body is suspended on a pair of Earles Fork units, quite a few other things as well.

Also noticed the hydraulic damper between the sidecar and fork, the big friction damper knob, and the bucket with the gauge in it.
The extra instrument is a Scitsu electronic tacho, also a voltmeter to keep an eye on the health of the battery when using the twin headlamps and the Cibie spotlamp.

When I've got time and its light outside I'll post some more pictures, particularly that damper knob.

Cheers

Lots of thanks to Vech, Owen Marshall, Duane Ausherman, Ron Coan at Alternative Media Blasting, Brett Hammond at H&H Powder Coating, Michael "Brownie" Brown (paint), Dr. Rue (pinstriping), Nancy Jurban at J&L Plating (cadimum plating), Jim at Dynamic Metal Finishing (Chrome)and lots of others who I sourced parts and information from. This was my first bike restoration and it was a fun winter project, Plus, I got to meet some really great people. Now, the warm weather comes!

If that's your first restoration, then I'd dare say that you have a fine career ahead as a BMW motorcycle restorer, if you chose. Contrarywise to my experience, "Dr Ru" seems to have done exactly what he's supposed to do, instead of his typical artistic license! If you do ever need another ps job, consider Greg Bock/north-east side of Detroit
