Serious newbie questions

Post by VBMWMO »

OK, the bike is a 1965 R60/2. With no owner's manual available (can't even find one for sale online), here are a few VERY basic questions:

1) What do the red and green lights under the speedometer indicate?
2) What is the shift pattern (4 down? 4 up? 1 down, 3 up?)?
3) I see a key insertion point for a steering column lock and the tool kit holder. Is there one (and where do I find it) for the ignition?!
4) There are two switches near the left hand grip - one is a toggle style (two position) and one is a push button that returns automatically. What are these for?

That's it for now - I'm sure there will be more! Thanks in advance.

In case you are curious how I have possession of a bike and can't even answer these questions... the motorcycle is from my grandfather's estate. He owned a motorcycle dealership in the 60s/70s and kept this bike when he closed the store. Never rode it much, but always loved it. It only has 6,500 miles on it! Looks like everything (except the battery and headlight) are original - even the tires! :!:
