R50 rocker bearing shaft replacement
Years ago I bought a set of NOS rocker bearing shafts. My shop advises that I dismantle the rocker assemblies and check for wear marks, etc. I have done a little looking online but have not had the procedure explained.
Can anyone give me some info or tips?

Re: R50 rocker bearing shaft replacement
Two questions will set your path; is there any play in the rockers on the shaft and have you taken them apart to measure them?
If they are within spec there is no need to replace them. They are likely fine and if so I would put krytox in there and go on your merry way.
I have only found a few sets that needed replacement and that’s likely because they were not getting enough oil, or fresh oil.

Re: R50 rocker bearing shaft replacement
I plan to have a careful look at them today. I suppose checking for play is done exactly as in /5 machines. Is there a different type (not flat) of feeler gauge, or another method of measuring clearance between the shafts and rockers?
Again I always appreciate your input!
