Restoring frame badge?

Post by tboooe »

The frame badge on my R69S is looking really beat up and I would like to restore it if possible. Is there anyone that does this?

Honestly, please leave it as is. It is original and be happy you still have it!!!

Yes,original has more value as well as cachet.

 It is like a time stamp of the machines life. No matter how many paint jobs or restorations, this tells the true tale of the machines journey. I have a 1954 with a beautiful, original condition tag, which gives me a idea that this was a coddled, loved bike that spent it's evenings indoors. Whereas my fully rebuilt / restored R69S has one with some corrosion and fading which is reflective of the condition I acquired it in. It's crazy, but most will agree that the original plate is more desirable.

I agree with the group. Leave it as is, it adds character on top of the cachet. :-)
