I measured the one I had on hand. Slider side 5.81 mm and 5.83 mm, pretty close for a 55 year old part. Selector side 7.93 mm on what I will call the “major” diameter, this end has a definite curvature.
Mal, Great question. My guess is that the slider is about 6mm. I don’t have one to check. It’s really the “twist” of the fork in the slider that seems to matter. There is a transmission article in the Winter 2021 Issue (I know who wrote it ). I suggest changing over to the eccentric shift fork bushings as found on the /5; lots of material on the web about that.
