Just curious about the bottom rear portions of these fenders. To me this bike looks like original paint, original fenders that are not cut but not quite sure what to make of the pinstriping. All r60s I've seen have had the pinstriping follow the curve of the bottom portion of the fender where as this bike the pinstriping ends at the bottom of the fender. Any thoughts?
Welcome to the forum! Not a lot of R60US pictures I could find. But this one, which doesn't show all around the bottom, to me suggests that it does go all the way around. And yours has too sharp of an angle at the bottom, which seems like it's been modified.
The fenders are definitely bobbed at the bottom both front and rear. When I look at the I stripe it looks like it does not follow the edge very well and is a bit shaky. Original stripes were not like that and it makes me feel as if they were done afterwards. also the stripes on the tank look like they go too far forward on the tank.
Have you checked the archives to see if this was born as a diver white motorcycle or did it get repainted?
Hope this helps.

If you search Google Images for 'BMW R60US' you will see a jillion pictures, not one of which shows the pinstripes terminating at the bottom of the fender as yours does. Your rear fender in particular looks to me like it has been bobbed. A previous owner must have thought it looked better that way. If you feel along the bottom edge, does it feel like it has been sawed off? It should be rounded, not sharp-edged.

Thank you all for the replies. So fenders have been bobbed. Bummer. How do I check the archives to see if this was born as a dover white model or repainted? What/who’s archives? That will be interesting to find out.
You will need to send an email to the BMW archives and pass to them your bike's VIN and whatever you know about the bike. If they have something in their records they will email you back. Check out this post for one place to email:
