/2 Fenders on an R27

Post by ddederer »

Hi - I have an unrestored R27 and the fenders are pretty rusted and pitted. I have an opportunity to purchase some /2 fenders in really nice original condition. Can anyone tell me if they will fit an R27? The same goes for the headlight shell which I am pretty sure will fit the R27.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum! The part numbers are different so, that appears to suggest they won't fit. Plus the /2 fenders have an extra support arm that bolts to the axle area.

I believe the headlight bucket is the same whereas the fenders are not.

If you pass on the fenders I’d be very interested in them. I have been hunting for a nice set of original (black) fenders for an R69S project. It came to me missing all the sheet metal as well as some other odds and ends. Nice original fenders are hard to find. My intentions are to complete this bike as a black on gray. Something I’ve never seen and I for one love the looks of it. Thanks!

I’ve attached a photo and the upload wizards seem to have inverted it. It’s upright in my library so I’m not sure how to resolve it here.
