washers in the front brake hub

Post by malmac »

Hi Guys

I am currently putting together a front brake hub with new linings.
The hub has been apart for probably 20 plus years and some small bits have gone AWOL.

Would anyone be able to tell me the OD measurements for the three different tpe of washers which Barrington mentions.

1. Goes on the brake shoe pivot point at the bottom
1. Goes on the top of the brake shoe pivot point under the split pin
1. goes under the brake actuation devices.

Any information much appreciated.

Thank you not only for the information but especially for the source.
I did not think of looking for such details on Salis.

I can now crank up the lathe and make the washers to the correct dimensions.

It is not that they are expensive, but rather that freight from Europe at present is rather slow.
I have parts on order from Jan at Salis and tracking tells me that a chap in a row boat is bringing them along sooner or later.

Hope the wind is blowing toward you to speed up your delivery
7_10 days from Salis to Massachusetts

That is why I like Salis site when you bring up the part and then click on details you sometimes get more info on the part
Valves and valve quides are a good example

Didnt take long for the order to be sent but he must be rowing into a head wind.

Funny you should mention valve guides, as I have just purchased the phosprous bronze to machine up some new valve guides.
Must check the details out.

Regards
