Lid Latch

Post by wa1nca »

Pic of latch
Should also have a safety chain to hold lid in
The original is not strong and easy to make better
Can take pic if you would like

NOS Enduros

Post by miller6997 »

Those of you following this thread might be interested in a NOS set of Enduros currently listed on eBay. We could have a pool for guessing on the final sales price.

Holy cow .....
I only paid $500 for mine 2 years ago. At $1500 and reserve not met ..... anything is possible. Personally I hope no one buys them and he has to lower the price.

My guess is they will break

Post by FL54 »

My guess is they will break the $2k mark. The heavy hitters usually bid in the final seconds of the auction. The broken lid has been repaired. I bent some 10 penny nails and welded them to the bracket to secure the front of the lid. The second picture shows the latches that the PO used to secure the leading edge of the lid in lieu of the broken prongs.
After wasting much of Tommy’s time trying to troubleshoot why my lights wouldn’t work ‘ (I foolishly left an incandescent bulb in one bag) we finally got them working. I’ll post some photos after I put it all together.
Thanks again Tommy for all your help and please excuse my ignorance.

Brake/Tailight

Post by wa1nca »

You did not waste my time
Glade we got it sorted out
PS
I would have done the same
Lets get one side working then do the 2nd side next
Why waist my time doing both bulbs if I can't get one side to work

Both sidebag bulbs and tailight bulb need to draw the same amount of current

I didn't get everything back

Post by FL54 »

I didn't get everything back together yesterday and came down with something yesterday evening so I haven't been back in the garage yet. When I was messing around with it yesterday, it seemed like the bag bulbs were dim when the taillight was on. It could be a faulty ground but if not, would a lower rated resistor like a 47 ohm or less make the bag lights brighter or could it be that the taillight is drawing too much current?

Dim tailight

Post by wa1nca »

Yes possible bad ground
I didnt like how the original ground gets grounded
Take your jumper wire and connect it to the bulb bracket and then to a clean spot of the frame (no paint) bolt ect
If no change measure the voltage from the bulb bracket and to the wire going to the bulb with the tail light on
Let me know what you get

To up the voltage you can take 2 of the 56 ohm resistors and put them in parallel with each other this will now give you a resistance of 1/2 of 56 ohms or 28 ohms
Let me know what you get for voltage reading and note if ok or too bright

Off for another snowmobile ride back buy 5 or 6 tonight est
May be easier to call me you have my #
