A 1951 R67 with 20k miles hit eBay last night with a BIN of $14k. As an addict watcher for the past 3 years, she's the first one I've seen. She looked incredibly original aside from the saddle and some funky carb tops. She was sold by the time I checked back today. Was $14k a decent price for this bike? With such low mileage, she looked like a good bath would get her back in business. According to the seller she is currently in running/driving condition.
Any input? She's a matching numbers, original title bike bought from the dealer in '53.
I knew they were a sub 1500 production number bike but values are tough to determine without recent sales figures.
I recently sold a 1972 Honda CB 500. Had her listed on Craigslist for $4200 and got nothing but guys telling me she was worth $2k according to Nada guides. Decided to list her on eBay and she went for $5800. Leads me to believe that the market determines value more fluidly than any book.
That said, I'm curious what book you're referencing? I've got a book with vintage beamer values but it's gotta be ten years old. I'd be happy to buy beamers all day at their suggested values.
I've spoken with the owner. If you want this bike let me know, I've got an R69S on the line and I can't swing two, so while it kills me to do it, I'm happy to pass this one on to another member.
That bike is a virtual virgin. Original one year air filter, original paint, original condition. That is a JEM. I'm working on the same year and model, but way far from this one in originality. Had I not started on this one, I'd have been all over that. SUPER BARGIN @ 14K. Once more for the hard of hearing "They're onle original once".
That is the best, most original, "as found" old BMW I've ever seen. It's a sidecar model, and still has the security safety wire around the speedometer cable....awesome. That really belongs in a museum.
