R75 Reverse handlebar levers question

Post by Bruce Frey »

The prewar BMW Bikes I am familiar with (R12 and R5-R71) all have 25mm handlebars. I assume, but do not know for certain, that the R75 also used them.

It is also fair to say that there can be a lot of variation in repop parts. Repops originating from Central Europe may need some custom work to make them fit.

If you are looking for R75 information, check out the Kradrider Group on Yahoo.

R75 Reverse handlebar levers question

Post by VBMWMO »

Hi, I'm new here.
I recently picked up a set of R75 replacement handlebar levers (meat hooks) I wanted to use them on 7/8th inch handlebars but they don't seem to fit inside the bar ends nor even the ends of 1" bars.
They do seem to fit in the end slots on 7/8ths throttle grips but what about the other end?
Can anyone please tell me just what the deal is with what sized bars they are for and what year bikes?
Thanks.
