New to me. Bringing her home this weekend.
So I;'m happy to live in the greatest neighborhood ever. One where your across the street neighbor is a BMW motorcycle enthusiast. One that likes to ride but would rather not tinker. Well about 10 years ago he brought home a beautiful 1976 R90S in Daytona Orange. Fast forward the decade with a few incidents where the bike was recalcitrant and he didn't want to deal with it, he wound up buying other bikes and this one sat. And sat. The other day he says, so do you really want to buy my R90S? I ask how much. Given that number was something I could write a check for on the spot and not bat an eye, I am the proud owner of 4990124. Pics will be uploaded this weekend. I'd say it is a 7.5/10 and I may be a bit harsh on that. She starts and runs, the right carb seeps a bit so I plan on rebuilding them over the summer, but I am stoked to join the tribe.

The R90S has come home.
The R90S has come home. Really needs nothing but some attention right now. Everything but the clock works like a champ.

Nothing like a DO R90S! A
Nothing like a DO R90S! A couple of questions. Is the front wheel off the ground when on the center stand? Should be...could be the photo angle. Also, what's the hole/opening for on the left battery side cover. Never seen that before.

My R90S would balance on the
My R90S would balance on the center stand - both wheels off the ground! Probably depends on amount of fuel in the tank and location of the tool kit. Oh, maybe the Lester mags had an effect on it.

It tends to favor resting
It tends to favor resting with the front wheel off but it can be coaxed in to having the rear up. Near as I can tell the port looks to be a jack for a battery tender. Of course I don't have the device.
Spent some time with the simichrome today. Things are shining up nicely. The front forks are a bit clunky. Might need to look in to the head bearings or simply rebuild the forks. Nah, that can wait till the fall. I think I'll just enjoy it as is for the season. For the price I think I've got quite the machine.
