Thanks for the reply and information. The plan is to take one section at a time and touch it up. If I doesn't touch up well it will turn into a total tear down and frame restoration. I will try to post some photos as it progresses.

I think the best thing to do now is start a new "rebuild" post to reflect what Im doing. At best it will only be a partial restoration so look for a post called 1968 R60/2 Partial Restoration.

No, the paint is not original. Not only is it not original its been spot painted so if its in the sun or bright light you can actually see multiple shades of black. As I said earlier my bags came with a dual socket for the for the rear lights It was modified I now think my bulb socket is original and I now understand what the previous owner did to make it work Not a great job but now know how I would do it better Is this pic the same as your bulb socket?? If so...

Im getting ready to paint my R60/2. Tank, fenders, ears, headlight and shock tops. The frame is fine.

Can anyone direct me to the correct black color paint. I already have someone lined up to do the white pin striping.
