Re: Like button

A "like" or other recognition button would be cool. There are so many discussion here I have nothing of value to add, but would like folks to know I appreciate the conversations.

Re: R27 Petcock

Original would be an Everbest. I have a modern reproduction and it works well, no leaks, and it's simple to clean the internal filter. Bob's has a good write up of the petcock, supposedly the originals were prone to leak. The repro looks to be in stock at Vintage Beemer Parts. https://vintagebeemerp...

Re: De-rusting R25/2 Tank

I don't know. I rinsed out the Evaporust with a few good sloshes of gas, and have just keep the bare metal tank filled with non-ethanol. That's been functionally good enough, no rust has returned. If nothing else, Evaporust is a simple and clean first step.

Re: De-rusting R25/2 Tank

I second the Evaporust suggestion as a first step. I did a very crusty old Honda tank - three days sitting filled with straight Evaporust, shaken gently a few times a day. Evaporust won't harm paint or your skin, and is safe to pour on the ground or in your sink.

This is great! Does this club typically have a gathering at the event? I live about an hour from the rally site and am really looking forward to it.

I need to find a "+1" button for the forum for up-voting answers. A +1 or other recognition button would be cool. There are so many discussion here I have nothing of value to add, but would like folks to know I appreciate the conversations. I get way more out of this forum than I can give...

Re: Quick wiring questions, front brake light switch

Just to finish this thread out in case anyone finds it through a search: My R27 had a later right handlebar throttle and brake perch on it when I got it, with a threaded hole. I got a proper Endurolast front brake light switch, which threaded right in, and ran 16 gauge wire (16/2 wrapped and rated f...

Re: How much do you ride your classic ?

Great question, I'm looking forward to the responses. Lots of folks have multiple bikes, so mileage will be split between them. I have an R27 and an R75/5. This year is my first full year back riding after a long break, and I've done about 1,500 miles on the single and only about 300 on the /5. The ...
