R65 to small for interstate use?

Sounds like they really don't want to sell the bikes. Let them state their concerns...buyer beware and all that... I think Darryl summed things up well. Afterall, he actually owns one. My guess is these other people don't have the bike set up properly to be able to go that fast. Frankly, I see no re...

R90/6 Clutch Slippage

How many miles on the clutch? What kind of miles...all highway, mostly city, mix? I've got +80K on my /7 clutch and that's mostly highway miles, and all seems fine so far. I think it's virtually impossible to get engine oil on the clutch, especially from blow-by. The only way I believe for oil to ge...

airheart brake

I googled this http://www.airheart-brakes.com/. There was a section on parts lists which had some installation instructions. Maybe that will help.

Looking for a Bike

In the August MOA News, there's a '67 R60/2 in Alabama. Engines been redone, powdercoated frame, tank and fenders w/ original black paint. Wants $6K. Also there's a 1961 R69S completely redone by Bench Mark Works. Bike's in Wisconsin...$about 11K... The Airheads magazine shows a '65 R60/2 with renew...

Dyna 3 ignition v. bansden ignition

I've run the Dyna III on my /7 for maybe 23 years. It replaces the points plate and eliminates the condensor, so if you want to change back on the road, you'll need to carry these along. It reuses the mechanical centrifugal advance...some people don't like that aspect. There are two separate pickups...

New owner R69S

Oh, boy, an oil thread! 20w50 or 10w30 doesn't sound right for a transmission. My aftermarket Clymer says to use 90W hypoid gear oil throughout the drive train, 80W in the tranny in the winter. Personally, I would use a good quality 80w90 hypoid gear oil, GL5 rated. There's been some discussion abou...
