It's from the /5 series BMW after 1969
about the front brake cable you must do it yourself
i mean buy one with open end.

Dear Michael is for the camshaft..
the early timing gears especially the one for the camshaft
where flat on the side towards the bearing of camshaft..
so after the bearing before you put the camshaft gear you were
putting this ring with the nose towards to the bearing

The one with the small hole is from an R5 and the other one is from an R51 or R66.
