Re: changing manual trasmission fluid

On my other bikes, the filler hole can be used to check the level. On my R69S, the amount of oil added is to the bottom of the threads on the fill hole. So, if you look in through the hole, you should see oil at about that level.

Re: How to contact Cycle Werks.

This is what is in our Useful Links section...looks like it's the same as the website: Cycle Works, LLC 5805, Haskins Street, Shawnee, Johnson County, Kansas, 66216, United States of America 913.871.6740 dan@cycleworks.net http://www.cycleworks.net/ I do know that Dan is a one-man-band there. For so...

Re: R60/2 best place to source a centrifugal advance unit

I think this whole differential timing mumbo jumbo is for the most part, a great big nothing burger. Why do you say that? Ideally, each cylinder should fire at the same point in rotation. If they don't you will have uneven power pulses which can be felt in rough running and can result in pulses tha...

Re: Fiamm horn/relay question.

I believe in BMW wiring tech, green wires are power but with a black stripe that means it's switched power.

Re: Pagusa seat top

I replaced the Pagusa cover on my R25/2 quite a few years ago. I got some ideas from the German singles forum. I eventually got it done, but it was a real bear. Not sure I want to do that again. Here's my thread on that: https://vintagebmw.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3761 I found another thread with o...

Re: R60/2 best place to source a centrifugal advance unit

You would not be taking a hammer to the shafts. You would simply be lightly tapping on the end of the bolt that holds the advance unit onto the taper of the camshaft. This repositions the rotor...it sits on the a tapered fit. This procedure was recommended by Vech...can't get a higher recommendation...

Re: Shorting front cover / I'm embarassed

First I'd take the cover off and see if it will start. Concern over the front cover removal is a real issue on the /5-on bikes as I believe there are circuits that are live on those bikes. It's been said to do the same thing on a /2 but I'm not so convinced that the issue is as concerning on them. I...

Re: Another /6 Electrical Question

I'd start with something simple like the parking light. It has two wires to the bulb socket - ground and power. As for power, following the wire back gets me to the fuse in the headlight shell. Fuse good? If so, then do you have power on the one side of the fuse? If not, then you have to find out wh...
