Hi Kurt, What brings you to

Hi Kurt, What brings you to balmy Minnesota? I'd be more than happy to have a second set of eyes on it if you've got the time and interest. The bike is on my lift in Lino Lakes (northern Suburb) right now, and I am pretty flexible. If your schedule allows, and you want to have a look, send me a pm a...

R50 /2 Rear Brake Lever and Switch Alignment

Working through reassembly of my 1965 R50 /2 project (I didn't take it apart so don't have that experience), and I'm noticing the rear brake light activation switch and the lever which activates it do not align very well. The pictures show the offset. Is the silver lever (into which the M6 hex screw...

Does it appear as though I am missing a bracket then, or is your stack of spring steel sheets longer?

Cool thanks Kurt.

Good point on the engine clearance - I'll remove the horn until after I put the engine in (pretty soon). The horn is pretty tight to the frame - may need to tweak the spring bracket a bit.

R50 /2 Horn Mount

Hi, I'm looking for a bit of helpful confirmation from someone familiar with how the Klaxon horn mounts on an R50 /2. Mine is a 1965, purchased in boxes so I didn't get to take it apart, and my pictures show what I think is the correct mounting (, but I've been wrong before . . . ). I've searched fo...

Cool - looks like mine is a bit different as it does not have the three rivet fasteners on the side where the vertical support joins the rack platform itself. Not sure what mine is, but I may need to replace it.

Thanks for sharing your picture. Nice looking bike there!

Thanks for your reply Kurt.

Thanks for your reply Kurt. I did look at it 180deg from how I have it now, but then the vertical support for the rack is well away (a couple inches front to back direction) from any mounting hole. I appreciate your thought though. This bike is the only experience I have with vintage motorcycles so ...
