torquing driveshaft bell on R50

I realized after trying to torque it that the driveshaft bell nut should be torqued once installed in the swingarm housing (duh!). I do not want to stress the u-joints so I am wondering what is the best way to torque to the recommended 94 ft/lbs.

Hints?

Correct lens for 1955 R50?

I have bought a Hella lens from a group member, but wanted to know if it was a later one than the original. It has a triangular pattern. I will use it, but should I be on the lookout for one like the original?

Re: OK to kickstart on Brown sidestand??

Interesting comments. When I had my R60/2 I routinely started it on the same type of sidestand (Vietnamese SS). Unfortunately it broke off at the top join and I had to have it welded. No more starting on the side stand!

Early R50 drive shaft reassembly

Those of you with experience please comment! I read on page 119 in the /2 Clymer manual that "early models with a conicity of 1:5 on the drive shaft, the cone must be lapped in with a fine grade of grinding compoundif either the shaft or coupling is replaced. On later models with a conicity of ...

Thank you Vech!

Come to think of it you told me on the phone in 2020 that they were unnecessary.

I was searching in case they might turn up and they did not.

Shopping for Camshaft for earlyR50 (# 551610)

I look in Uli's online catalogue and I see left and right side camshafts (?). List prices are higher (367 Euros) I sent an inquiry. On meyer.bikes.de I see no mention of left and right, though I see the same part # (0031027) which I presume is the early model. My local shop advises that there were 4...
