Seeking advice how to install the oem BMW cable ties. This type of tie has the plastic strap with fittings to puncture the strap.
What method should be used to enable the plastic pin to puncture tie without deforming said pin?

Late reply on this. BMW changed cable suppliers in the early 2000s. The new vendor introduced the hexagonal die. Both my '71 R 75/5 (my current ride), and my 72 (which I bought new) have fuses behind the headlight. I'm sure a 73 would have them as well.
