I will mention this since I

I will mention this since I was in a similar situation when I was looking for a bike. I first looked at a R50/2......smooth but severe lack of power. If you ride it once a year then no worries.....If you plan on actually riding it then it was pretty weak in the power department. I then decided I wou...

My first thought was Bates

My first thought was Bates until I saw the seat pan.... I don't recall any of the Bates having ribs in the seat pan like that. Makes me think of a modified Harley/Indian solo seat. Hard to say for sure.

Definitely the r60/2. More

Definitely the r60/2. More power.....these bikes didn't make much power to begin with.....at least with the R60/2 you can for the most part keep up with modern traffic. They cost the same to work on, why not get more displacement?

sorry for the late response

sorry for the late response but I just want to thank you for your advice. I replaced the stock 0k ohm caps with a set of 1k ohm Beru plug caps and my problems disappeared. I'm still a bit baffled as to why the instructions state you can run 0-2k ohm caps. I just figured they would be fine since the ...

Mzb power dynamo issues

I’m racking my brain trying to figure out the issues I am having with this mzb power dynamo system. The charging system is working exceptionally....however I am having ignition issues. The two issues I am having - a stumble between idle and aprox 3k rpm. The engine will hesitate and surge a bit. Aft...

Thank you for that part

I bought my lights from a seller on eBay who no longer offers them, but some others do, and they are less expensive than what I paid. The part number for the version that I bought is: 2SA 997 022-001 HELLA Tail Light C5W. If you copy and Google that, you should see several sources for the lights, i...

hella

I had to do some minor modifications to the mounting hardware to get them to fit properly on my R69S, and the running lights supplied with the kit were of poor quality (this may have changed more recently). I replaced the lights with the proper Hella versions, which added a little over $100 to my co...

I just ordered the Oldtimer

I just ordered the Oldtimer bags for my '57, have not received them yet. After doing research I decided I didn't want an original pair because they are too expensive, not very sturdy, lose bag lids, ect.... The bluemoon bags had just reappeared on ebay but when I was doing research It seemed some pe...

Also note the Coffee Can

Also note the Coffee Can taillight. Although nobody can say for sure....since it seems the factory just used whatever parts they had left over....it seems the coffee can was a mid-late 1957 addition. I also have a 1957 R60 that has a mix of early and late 57 parts yet still has an early Eber tail li...
