It is very difficult to

It is very difficult to estimate a value with pictures much less with out any. If the numbers match and the original parts are mostly there, cosmetically a rider, and not locked up - I would guess $3k (maybe up to about $4k on the high end). If you had to end up sinking $5k into it you wouldn't be t...

R68/R69 Swinging Pillion

Hello, I have been searching for the swinging pillion seat and was wondering if anyone had detailed pictures of an original? Particularly the bottom. Also, did they all have a seam in the front center like the one in this attachment or were there variations. I would like to know what is original (ve...

Sorry for the delay in

Sorry for the delay in responding and thanks for all the responses. I already had the cashectomy and installed the longer stalks. I am beginning to wonder if I need different signal casings. The ones I have are flush on the outside and mount from the inside, if I don't push them against the plate/wa...

S fairing installation

Hello, I have been working on this R90 for over a year now and have finally gotten it close to being ready to hit the road. I still have a few issues remaining, one being the S fairing installation. I am wondering if having the side marker lamps all the way up against the metal washers with the U sh...

Hi Ray, I did the work

Hi Ray, I did the work myself. I only needed a few seals replaced and didn't break it all the way down. I used the Barrington Manual, heat gun, and a few specialty tools from Cycle Works. It was still kind of difficult but I enjoy learning how to work on the bike. I think the cost to have it done by...

Rich and Kurt, thank you for the responses. Sounds like this is normal especially after new seals are installed.

R50 Final Drive

How much effort should it take to turn the final drive by hand with it off the bike? Mine seems a little hard to turn.

Thanks,
JT

My solution

I thought I would share how I resolved the issue. I bought a new stand. The original stand was bent, actually kind of closing in on itself. Not evident to me originally but it was easy to see when I compared the old stand to the new one. The old stand let the bike go too far forward so when you trie...
